Ted Lilly had been hoping to return to the Los Angeles Dodgers as a reliever but he's suffered another setback in his rehab from shoulder and back problems, reports the L.A. Times.
Lilly is being reevaluated by doctors rather than throwing a simulated game as originally scheduled and with just a few weeks left in the season the chances he returns at all in 2012 appear slim.
The left-hander is under contract for 2013, however, but what role he plays may still be in question, especially if the club adds one or two more starting pitchers, as expected.
