Mark Brewer, the New York Mets' Triple-A pitching coach who presided over top prospects like Matt Harvey, Zack Wheeler, Jeurys Familia and Jenrry Mejia, will not be invited back in 2013, reports Andy McCullough of the Star Ledger.
While evaluating their organization during the last few weeks, the Mets' front office decided that the Triple-A pitchers were not always following the strengthening and conditioning program developed by minor-league pitching coordinator Ron Romanick. McCullough says that was one of the reasons for Brewer's dismissal.
The Mets also announced the will switch their Triple-A affiliate from Buffalo to Las Vegas beginning next season.
