Tuesday's streaking and slumping starting pitchers

STREAKING
Mat Latos, Cincinnati Reds (10-3, 3.81 ERA)
Latos had another solid start against the Brewers on Wednesday afternoon, but was dealt a no decision after the bullpen blew a 2-1 lead. The righty went seven strong innings, allowing one earned run while striking out eight. He’s now 3-0 with a 1.65 ERA in his last four outings. His next start is at home versus the Mets.
Doug Fister, Detroit Tigers (6-7, 3.48 ERA)
Fister had another quality start Thursday, holding the Yankees to two runs through 6 1/3 innings. The right-hander has been incredible since the All-Star break, going 4-1 with a 1.79 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 41:6 K:BB ratio in six starts. He takes the mound on the road against the Twins next time out.
SLUMPING
Zack Greinke, Los Angeles Angels (0-1, 5.68 ERA)
Greinke has struggled in his three starts since joining the Angels, surrendering 12 earned runs over 19 innings. The former Brewer has most recently suffered defeats on the road in Oakland and Chicago. The righty goes for his first win since June 27 against the Indians in his next start.
Josh Beckett, Boston Red Sox (5-9, 4.97 ERA)
Beckett was pounded by Texas for eight runs in his last start Wednesday, but Red Sox management has decided to keep him in the rotation to start against Baltimore. The right-hander was pulled in his previous start against Detroit because of back spasms.
