Friday's streaking and slumping starting pitchers

STREAKING

Matt Moore, Tampa Bay Rays (10-7, 3.57)
Moore turned in another solid outing Sunday against the Angels, allowing two earned runs over 6 1/3 innings pitched. The rookie is 4-0 over his last five starts and hasn’t surrendered more than two runs in a game since July 7. He tries to keep the momentum going against the A’s on Friday.

Kyle Kendrick, Philadelphia Phillies (6-9, 4.20)

Kendrick allowed three hits over eight scoreless innings against the Brewers on Sunday to pick up his sixth win of the season. The righty has posted back-to-back wins and hasn’t allowed a run in his last 15 innings pitched. He draws the Nationals next.

SLUMPING

Ben Sheets, Atlanta Braves (4-3, 3.07)

Sheets allowed six runs on four hits over six innings Saturday against the Dodgers to fall to 4-3 on the year after a red-hot start. The veteran righty has suffered back-to-back losses after blazing out of the gates with a 4-1 record. He takes the hill in San Francisco in his next start.

Ryan Vogelsong, San Francisco Giants (10-7, 2.85)

Vogelsong lasted just three innings in Sunday's 7-1 loss to the Padres. The right-hander also got rocked for eight runs in 2 2/3 innings in his previous start against Washington. Vogelsong has just one quality start in his last three turns after running off 16 consecutive quality outings from May 3 to July 29. He gets the Braves at the friendly confines of AT&T Park on Friday.
