Friday's streaking and slumping starting pitchers

STREAKING

Clay Buchholz, Boston Red Sox (9-3, 4.48 ERA)

Buchholz held the Twins to one unearned run over seven innings Saturday, but he did not factor into the decision. Buchholz has now allowed one run or fewer in three of his last four starts, and boasts a 1.98 ERA since returning from the disabled list. He toes the rubber against the Indians next time out.

Scott Feldman, Texas Rangers (6-6, 4.52 ERA)

Feldman’s recent success has forced the Rangers to shift veteran righty Roy Oswalt to the bullpen. Feldman has only allowed three runs over his last three starts - all wins. His ERA has dropped from 5.37 to 4.52 during that stretch. He draws the Tigers in his next outing.
SLUMPING

James McDonald, Pittsburgh Pirates (10-5, 3.42 ERA)

The Reds scored four runs (three earned) on seven hits over six innings against McDonald on Saturday. The righty has surrendered four runs or more in five consecutives outings. He takes the hill against the Padres in his next start.
Homer Bailey, Cincinnati Reds (9-7, 3.98 ERA)

Bailey couldn't get out of the fifth inning Sunday against Pittsburgh, leaving with the bases loaded and two outs. He allowed four runs on nine hits. The right-hander also surrendered six earned runs in 3 2/3 innings in his previous start against the lowly Padres. He looks to turn things around against the Cubs on Friday.
