The Texas Rangers have placed Mike Napoli on the 15-day disabled list with a left quad strain that has been bothering him for most of the last week. This hands the starting catcher job over to Geovany Soto and also removes one bat from the "Four M Logjam" that also includes Mike Olt, Mitch Moreland andMichael Young .
With Napoli out, Ron Washington now only has to pick two of the three hitters to man first base and DH on a regular basis. Mike Olt had a walk-off hit on Saturday night pinch-hitting for Moreland and should see more action now that Napoli is out of the mix as he continues to earn his manager's trust.
