Melky leaves Giants in tough spot

As a result of the 50-game suspension of Melky Cabrera, the San Francisco Giants are out looking for an outfielder, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com.
The Giants apparently actually considered using veteran infielder Marco Scutaro in left field. Instead, the team will give regular PT to Gregor Blancoand have also called up Justin Christian from Triple-A for outfield depth.
As far as options outside the org, among the names mentioned are Alfonso Soriano, who appears set to use his no-trade rights to block a deal to the Giants.
Other names bandied about include Scott Hairston and Juan Pierre, who could become options but have yet to be placed on waivers.
Another idea is Jeff Francoeur of the Kansas City Royals, who is owed $6.75 million for 2013 and could be a player the Royals are willing to move considering the presence of prospect Wil Myers.
