Dodgers-Sox deal finalized soon?

By now, we know the teams and players involved in the super-duper-mega-deal between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. It seems too crazy and convoluted to actually come to fruition, but word is the trade is close to being finalized.
With Adrian GonzalezCarl CrawfordJosh Beckett and Nick Punto going to the Dodgers in exchange for right-hander Rubby De La Rosa and pitching prospect Allen Webster, as well as spare parts James LoneyJerry Sands, Ivan DeJesus Jr., the Red Sox will be clearing $261 million in payroll commitments going forward (depending on how much money the club kicks into the trade).
After hours of speculation Friday, there's been a shift to waiting for the details to be worked out and contracts to be reviewed. In fact, Beckett and Crawford have already waived their no-trade powers, according to CBSSports.com. Apparently, the final obstacles for completion are Beckett's physical, which should happen Saturday, and the review of the terms and finances by Commissioner Bud Selig.
With so many moving parts, potential hold-ups and possible financial snags, it's pretty amazing that this is actually coming to pass, especially so late in the season as a waiver trade. But at this stage, it would be a surprise if the trade doesn't happen.
