Not only are the Texas Rangers battling the Oakland Athletics in the American League West and have their sights set on a third straight trip to the World Series, but no matter howtheir season unfolds, the offseason will be full of difficult decisions, writes ESPNDallas.com's Richard Durrett.
Not only do the Rangers have to deal with Josh Hamilton's free agency, but questions surround the club's top prospect and the when and where involved, and the club's catching situation is all but settled moving forward.
Mike Napoli is a free agent after this season and the newly-acquired Geovany Soto will be arbitration eligible and set to earn as much as $6-7 million after earning $4.3 mililon in 2012.
Money nor depth is an issue for the club, however, so filling the holes won't necessarily be tough to do, but the decisions on which players to pay, which to send down the road and which free agent and trade targets to chase will be, as well as how much money to offer Hamilton.
