Carlos Lee on the block

The Miami Marlins had a deal in place -- for $1 million cash -- to send Carlos Leeto the New York Yankees but the veteran would not waive his no-trade rights, tweeted ESPN.com's Jayson Stark Tuesday. Lee was also offered to the Orioles, but the two clubs never came to an agreement, writes Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.
Lee may or may not clear waivers; since nearly his entire contract is being covered by the Astros, a club needing a right-handed hitter might bite on a waiver claim, though Lee isn''t exactly tearing it up at the plate.
The Detroit Tigers could be a fit if they don't feel Victor Martinez is going to make it back after all. The Tampa Bay Rays could have interest after saying goodbye to Hideki Matsuirecently.
