Tigers scouring trade market for pitching

In baseball circles, it's no secret the Tigersare at least considering beefing up their starting rotation, something that Doug Fister's continued struggles Monday night may expedite. The Tigers entered spring training with six candidates for the role as the team's fifth starter and a string of injuries has already forced them to use five of those six. As a result, the team has reportedly scoured the trade market, seeking available starting pitchers before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline expires. Chicago Cubs right-handerMatt Garza has reportedly been the topic of discussion. ... It's also possible the Tigers could consider reaching out toMilwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin about right-hander Shaun Marcum.
