What's next for the Cubs?

The Chicago Cubs have made two trades tonight, according to multiple reports, but neither included right-hander Ryan Dempster, outfielder Alfonso Soriano or closer Carlos Marmol.

Any of the three -- or all of them -- could be next as Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer reshape the Cubs organization from the top down.

With Geovany Soto heading to Texas, the Cubs are likely to recall Welington Castillo from Triple-A Iowa to help with the catching.

With Johnson off the roster, prospect Brett Jackson appears the most likely call-up to help in the outfield. Jackson may play everyday.

As for the rotation, the Cubs could call up Casey Coleman or Chris Volstad -- both of whom are on the 40-man roster -- or add one of several arms in Iowa, possibly Michael Bowden or veteran Rodrigo Lopez, to the 40-man and summon them to the big leagues.
