The Texas Rangers, having lost the American League West on the final day of the regular season, will have to take the long route if they are to return to the World Series for a third straight season. Unfortunately, they'll have to survive the one-game Wildcard playoff and perhaps the League Division Series without main setup man Mike Adams.
Adams, writes Evan Grant, is feeling better and may try to throw off a mound Friday.
Alexi Ogando and Koji Uehara will handle the eighth innings in close games while Adams is out, but barring any setbacks the right-hander should be back for the LCS, if the Rangers get that far.
