Matsuzaka's finale

The sometimes spectacular but often underwhelming tenure of Daisuke Matsuzaka in a Boston Red Sox uniform will end Wednesday night.
Matsuzaka, scheduled to start against the Yankees in New York, is a free agent after the season and the Red Sox aren't expected to bring him back, writesMLB.com's Ian Browne.
Matsuzaka has pitched 116 games for the Red Sox, going 50-36 with a 4.47 ERA. His production declined dramatically following a 2208 season in which he was 18-3 with a 2.90 ERA. The departure of Matsuzaka takes a six-year, $52 million contract off the books.
