Miami Heat officially signed Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis

The world champion Miami Heat officially signed guard Ray Allen and forward Rashard Lewis on Wednesday.

Allen rejected a two-year, $12 million offer from the Celtics to join LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami, according to the Miami Herald. Allen's deal with the Heat is for two years and is worth $6.3 million

Allen's five-year run in Boston is over. The sharp-shooting guard was dealt to Boston in June 2007 after spending his previous 4 1/2 seasons with the then-Seattle Supersonics.

Allen won his lone NBA title with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in 2008.

The NBA's all-time leader in three-point baskets, Allen has averaged 20.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists over 1,148 career games with Milwaukee, Seattle and Boston. He has made 2,718 shots from beyond the arc.

In 128 playoff contests, Allen has averaged 18.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

Allen, a 10-time All-Star, was originally drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. He was immediately acquired by the Bucks in a draft night deal for Stephon Marbury.

Lewis has accepted a $1.35 million minimum salary to join the reigning NBA champions, according to the paper.

The 14-year veteran played 28 games for Washington this past season, averaging 7.8 points and 3.9 rebounds.

Known as a shooter, Lewis has made 38.8 percent of his career 3-pointers over 934 games with the former SuperSonics, the Magic and the Wizards. He has career averages of 16.1 points and 5.6 rebounds.

It's going to be interesting to see how well these guys play together, how they mesh, if they have the chemistry it takes to win games all year long as well as go deep into the play-offs, and intimately win a championship. The talent is there, the stats are there, the money has been spent, and the fans are excited. I'm sure Vegas will once again make them the favorite to win another title. We'll see soon enough i suppose.
