Dillon Gee Released From Hospital

Mets pitcher Dillon Gee was released from a New York hospital on Wednesday and the team said he would consider additional treatment to prevent further blood clotting in his throwing shoulder.

Testing at New York-Presbyterian Hospital on Monday showed a clot in an artery in Gee's right shoulder, which doctors were able to break up using a catheter.

The Mets said Wednesday the issue "has resolved" and that further treatment options include possible surgery to prevent any more blood clots in the area.

Gee, who initially complained of numbness in the fingers on his right hand, will miss his next start and go on the disabled list. He is 6-7 with a 4.10 earned run average in 17 starts this season.
